About the role
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at CCRM Nordic will be part of the executive leadership team and will contribute to strategic and management decision making processes. This role has the primary responsibility to oversee company operations ensuring that CCRM Nordic’s facilities, services, and GMP production capabilities run smoothly, safely, and efficiently in alignment with organizational goals, values and culture.
The role spans both the establishment and ongoing operation of CCRM Nordic’s new ATMP site, ensuring a successful start-up, regulatory compliance, and long-term operational excellence. The role oversees general site responsibilities (infrastructure, services, health & safety, and day-today operations) as well as GMP production functions, working closely with the Head of Production and Quality Director.
This role is providing leadership and operational oversight to ensure the effective delivery of advanced therapy manufacturing services. The COO is accountable for planning and executing operational strategies that support client relationships, fulfill project commitments, and uphold CCRM Nordic’s values. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of operations including facilities, site services, health & safety, and GMP production which ensures excellence across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage all operational aspects of CCRM Nordic, including facilities, site services, health & safety, and GMP production.
- Works closely with the executive team for company strategic goals and has a deputy responsibility for the CEO role as needed.
- Ensure operational readiness and long-term running of the GMP manufacturing site, from handover through steady-state operations.
- Work with the Head of Production to oversee execution of manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and delivery to client needs.
- Partner with the Quality Director to uphold GMP and regulatory standards across operations.
- Oversee site infrastructure, services, maintenance, and operational support functions.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, resource plans, and risk management strategies.
- Drive a strong culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence across all teams.
- Collaborate with the executive team to align operations with organizational strategy and growth plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, partners, and suppliers.
- Act as a key point of leadership during both facility start-up and ongoing operations.
- Responsible for ensuring the fit-out and suitability of the CCRM Nordic ATMP facility, aligning with adjacent leadership (e.g. CTO) and functions such as Quality Control to ensure harmonious delivery of client projects.
- Co-lead and support the winning of business and incoming project formation – work package proposal, resource allocation, timeline, and deliverable agreements.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, workshops, and networking events to showcase our capabilities.
- Maintain and drive compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Education & Experience
- Extensive leadership experience in operations management, ideally in the life sciences, biopharma, or advanced therapy sectors.
- Strong understanding of GMP requirements for ATMPs, combined with experience in general site and operational management.
- Proven track record of leading facility start-up, commissioning, and long-term operations.
- Excellent financial, resource, and risk management skills.
- Strong communicator and collaborator, with experience engaging across internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on problem solving in a dynamic environment.
