Location: Hybrid between CCRM Nordic in Mölndal and travel to client/partner sites primarily within the Nordics/Europe

About the role
As a Head of Business Development, you will be the driving force behind CCRM Nordic’s growth in the Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP) space. This role will be responsible for sales and signed service contracts, requiring the ability to work at both the operational and strategic level to enable the long-term success of our clients. Since ATMP development is complicated, you should understand the importance of working closely with the process development and manufacturing teams to develop our specialized service offering, meaning technological understanding is required.
Key responsibilities
- Strategic Prospecting & Market Knowledge
- Conduct market research to map ATMP players (academic, biotech, CDMO, consortium) and prioritize high-value targets.
- Build and maintain a rich pipeline via events, digital outreach and personal networks.
- Business Development Leadership
- Lead the team that qualifies and pursues prospects, managing outreach, discovery, proposal, negotiation and contracting.
- Drive strategic Business development leveraging fee-for-service, grants, investment and industrial collaborations.
- Follow up on and ensure customer deliverables and satisfaction.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with technical and regulatory colleagues to craft scientifically rigorous and commercially compelling proposals.
- Lead budgeting, pricing and internal review cycles to meet both client needs and margin targets.
- Oversee business processes and long-term value creation.
- Relationship Management & Thought Leadership
- Cultivate long-term relationships with strategic clients and collaborators to build pipeline of clients and projects.
- Identify marketing opportunities and represent CCRM Nordic at conferences, workshops and webinars.
- Drive strategic development of the ATMP area with focus on ecosystem generation and bridging systematical challenges.
- Continuous Improvement & Market Intelligence
- Analyze intelligence and customer feedback to refine our value proposition in both short- and long-term timeframes.
- Recommend and contribute to implementation of enhancements to services, processes and pricing based on evolving market trends and client needs.
Education & Experience
- Education: PhD in Biotechnology or related field. An MSc and relevant work experience will also be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in business development or sales within the biotech, CDMO, or life-science services sectors, with significant ATMP focus.
- Domain Expertise: Required deep understanding of CDMO operations, the ATMP value chain, and therapeutic development.
- Technical Acumen: General understanding of technology platforms, process development, manufacturing modalities, and regulatory pathways is needed, with deep expertise in one or more platforms being warranted.
- Commercial Skills: Proven track record of closing contracts and structuring collaborations.
- Network: A wide network in cell and gene therapy is required.
